I have been planning to post this one a week ago but couldn’t find some time to do the job. I think this is the apt time for the post. No one on this earth could say that he/she have not loved or been loved by anyone. It is a beautiful feeling which everyone enjoys although it brings pain to most of them. In my earlier childhood days I was strictly against love and I don’t even like the romantic movies and the songs. Maybe the situation back in home could have been a reason for my thoughts in earlier days as my dad was strictly against love and is still against it now( Dono wat made him feel so stubborn against it and I have no guts to ask him the reason too). But my opinion has changed in recent times, say a couple of months and it is one movie that changed my views. You could have guessed the movie so far and yes it is Vaaranam Aayiram. I just love to watch the romance scenes of the movie over and over again. I didn’t just think that a movie can make an impact on a person to this extent and this movie also made me realize the positive part of love. Watching this movie again and again has pushed me into a state that I want to be loved now( Intha padam pathathula irunthu ore love padama than pakka thonuthunna pathukongalaen ) . I just don’t know whether this is right or wrong I just want to experience it now. With the valentine’s day arriving shortly only adds oil to the burning fire. This is the first time in my life that I am a bit excited about this particular day although I have no plans for a proposal on this upcoming day. I am single as of now but I give u readers assurance that this will not continue for long..

A couple of days back I was playing on my desktop when one of my friend suddenly came up to me and told me that all the colleges in the state has been closed indefenitely and that we will be having holidays once again for about a week altleast. I thought this will be of no big issue as things will be pleasant in a couple of days and there won’t be much enjoyment on the board. The biggest surprise came to me the next day morning when they asked me to vacate the hostel. I thought this is something wierd and decided to move to the hometown following assurance from the college that there will not be classes for another ten days atleast. So what am I to do in these days( U just can’t pass time. It’s ****ing bore here) As of now I have planned to download the top 250 movies in the IMDB rating and watch as many movies as I can in the upcoming days. Right now I finished watching the movie Crash based on racialism. So if u have any good ideas for me post me then.

It’s been a long time since I updated my blog and it is because I had been busy with some other things all these days. Things have accumulated and it is a big story to tell which can cover a couple of upcoming posts. When we see it is just a month but a lot of things have happened in this one month( Nothing affecting me so nothing to worry). First of all to start where I left my zeroth project review was over finally with the report submission process taking more than two weeks for the approval of the management. Then came the Pongal holidays and it was some holiday time and I spent nearly a week in my home. Had some good time with my friends, roamed the streets of Tirunelveli, went for movies and chatted a lot as it was more than six months since I saw my school friends. Returning back to college the monotonous job started. I found it difficult to attend classes for three days a week that too not three full days, just 14 hours split over the three days. I started wondering how I have been attending classes in the previous semesters( obviously only with 75% attendance but then I had five days of college and now only 14 hours a week and still my attendance is not 75% ). No one will believe that I got a prize in my school for attendance in my 12th standard. Remember that my school keeps classes from 7.30 to 7 on all days except Sunday being an exception of classes getting over by 1.00 and I haven’t missed one class for one year. God ! If i think about it I am amazed now. The new rule in my department is that I have to maintain 85% attendance this semester. Now am working hard towards attaining it.

Project review

Most of the seniors in my department have told me that project review in my department is not easier as they start asking some crap in the review and I didn’t believe it till I experienced it myself in the zeroth review. I was a bit nervous about the review as I did nothing for the project other than having a look on it on the penultimate day of the review. Review hall irunthu vantha pasanga ellam pei aranja madiri irutnhanga. This kindled my fears more as I was wondering what stupid questions they were gonna ask me. But there was a little confidence in me as my batchmates were well prepared and I had confidence in them to solve the problem with ease. The project guide was also in support for us so I was hoping this to get on smoothly. To make you know the state of the people inside the review committee here is a small example.

One of my friends was doing a project on designing a robot and he has even took part in the Robotics competition that took place in IIT last year.

Staff: Everything is fine but are u going to sense the motion of the robot

Student: The sensors is used to sense the motion

Staff: How will you program to sense the motion. What language will you use?

Student: The sesnor is a device and it detects the motion of the robot and it cannot be done by programming . The device must be bought.

Staff: Oh, The sensor is a device .. k..k..

This shows how brilliant are the staffs in the comittee and this needed and as I feared they started asking stupid questions to my batch right from the title of my project. They wasted about 10 minutes with the title slide and were not satisfied with the explanation I and one of my batchmates gave them although it is correct one. After around half an hour they left us finally saying that there are a couple of changes to be made in the report and that our project title has been selected. We came to realise the problem only when we approached the staff after changing the report. The staff has understood the concept to be wrong and now wants us to do the project as suggested by him. The new problem statement is about three times complex than the one that we have been working already and as far as I have asked the people who are in the field have told that this cannot be done in a time span of three months( time allocated for the project by the university). I was expecting 2009 to be good but like the previous year it has started out with problems once again.

With the dawn of the new year I welcome the new year and wish all the readers a very happy new year. To have a glimpse of the year 2008 it has been filled with both sorrow and joy for me and many things happened first time in my life. The most important and the significant one being the fact that I got placed in the campus interview that took place in the mid of this year. This year started bad for me and has also ended in the same note. Hope this does not continue in the upcoming year. It was in the year 2008 that I happened to have arrear for the first time in the history of my life. Being a topper in school and having to face the arrear for the first time it was some hard time for me. Then it was in this year that I came in good contact with a couple of my old school friends and I am happy to have them back and not to forget the new online friends too. Then again of the many firsts in my life time it was during this year that I hanged out wid friends a lot and not to mention the lots of treats I attended. Some of the firsts cannot be declared publicly( ). This was the first new year that I spent with my friends and we had some nice celebration in the hostel. As I told already the year had ended on a sad note for me as my department cancelled our north india tour which was scheduled to take place in the later half of december. I have been dreaming a lot about this tour and would have been more happier had everything gone by the plan. Some of the other unforgettable moments include watching my favorite team Manchester United win the treble title this year( obviously only in TV). I will be updating this post if anything else important comes into my mind about the year 2008.

Slumdog – The real slum

Slumdog Millionaire is one of the best movies I have seen in recent times. It shows the exact life of a real Indian slum and the difficulties he has faced in the life. The movie goes on like this . A slum from Mumbai(Jamal) participates in the “Who wants to become a millionare” and goes on to win the show. While the squeeze is put on Jamal we are inundated with flashbacks to his childhood to see how he came to his current predicament. As a child Jamal grew up with his brother Salim and mother in the slums of India and the boys underwent harsh treatment largely sometimes because of his faith. Unspeakable horrors confront both boys and those images and pent-up fears/hostilities have a clear impact on their teen years and adult lives. Love, romance and lust also enter into the equation as a young orphan named Latika seems to leave an indelible impression on the lads, and older grown ups as she ages. Full of violence and tense moments Slumdog Millionaire comes up a winner, turning out to be one of the best movies of the year. And to add flavour to the movie the background score is also good. The movie is worth a watch in theatre. So please spare some time and watich this movie in theatre as soon as possible.

Space not enough

Yippe upgraded my system once again and this time it is the Harddisk that got some attention. I bought a new 500gb harddisk. With this upgrade only my motherboard and the processor are the same since i bought my desktop around two years back. Think this is the last update that is being done to my first PC since I am having plans for buying a laptop next. This is my configuration as of now

Intel Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz ( this was the best when I bought my PC two years back though I know that it has been outdated a lot now)
2 GB DDR 2 RAM
830 GB Hard Disk ( 500+250+80 a total of three HDD)
and not but not the least a 7300 NVIDIA Graphic card

Even this huge space is not enough for me as it is getting filled fast. Think it will take at the most a month to fill out this new hard disk. Can any of the readers spare me some space in your hard disk. (Rombha overa irukko.. free )

Free atlast

Exams are over atlast. This has been the most hectic and the longest exams ever in the history of Anna University. The prolonged duration for the exams was due to the reason of the NISHA storm that attacked Tamil Nadu. My exams started back in November 7. Today is December 23 and it has taken 46 days for writing 6 exams ( Enna kodumai saravan ithu ) Intha paala pona NISHAvinal enga dept north india tour got cancelled. I have been dreaming all these days in the last semester about enjoying to the core in the tour. But ippadi nadanthu poche.. Enna panrathunu theriyala. Still cant come back from the dreams of Simla and Kulu Manali. Have around ten days holidays and have planned to spend the holidays by sleeping and watching movies all the time. Hope most of the readers are having a wonderful holiday season. Merry Xmas to readers.
